Tatyana Gershkovich is an assistant professor of Russian studies at Carnegie Mellon University; she previously taught at Dartmouth College. Gershkovich completed her BA and PhD in Slavic languages and literature at Harvard University, with a focus on European philosophy, aesthetics, and intellectual history, nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Russian prose, and émigré literature. In spring 2019, her article “Suspicion on Trial: Tolstoy’s The Kreutzer Sonata and Nabokov’s ‘Pozdnyshev’s Address’” appeared in PMLA. She is currently finalizing her first book manuscript, “The Shadow of the Instrument: Reading Past Oneself in Tolstoy and Nabokov.”
